We work with the United Bible Societies (which has 146 member societies) to support Bible work and meeting scripture needs worldwide.

Last year Bible Society supporters in New Zealand gave more than $2 million towards Bible Society mission overseas.

This is the equivalent of more than 160,000 full Bibles! (The average worldwide cost of a Bible is $12).

With these gifts we supplied Bibles and Scriptures in various formats, including audio, braille and children’s editions in Russia, China, the Middle East and many other countries.

We also helped some of the 600-plus Bible translation projects currently underway throughout the world.

We do this by working with the United Bible Societies (our worldwide Bible Society fellowship) which has 146 member Bible Societies. Of these, 121 Bible Societies (nearly all of them in developing countries) depend on additional support from Bible Societies like ours to sustain even a basic Bible mission.

That’s why most of our appeals for help are for overseas countries.
