50,000 copies of a special edition of the four Gospels will be made available for distribution at the Beijing Olympics this year.

At the recent opening ceremony of the new Amity Press in Nanjing, a leader of the Chinese Christian Church, Fu Xianwei, said the diglot Gospels (in English and Chinese) will be available at the Olympic Village chapel, in churches in Beijing and in other venue cities.

“The Beijing Olympic Organising Committee has granted the church permission to use their official emblem, free of charge, on the Gospels. This is the first time the Organising Committee has done anything like this without charge,” he said.

The Gospels are being printed at the Amity Press with the support of the United Bible Societies and the China Christian Council.
